Joy Lab Academy is an independent learning center offering engaging programs for children ages 6–13. Located in Jamaica Plain, we are rooted in the belief that young people learn best when they can pursue their interests within a supportive, mixed-age community.
Our approach combines academics with hands-on, real-world experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, confidence, and independence. Each day, learners engage in project-based learning, spend substantial time outdoors exploring nature, participating in sports and movement, and enjoy frequent field trips throughout Jamaica Plain and beyond.
Our Programs
After-School Classes Indoor and outdoor enrichment rooted in social-emotional learning with self-directed exploration, movement, and homework support.
2-Day Homeschool Program - Designed to complement homeschool learning through enriching, hands-on experiences, collaborative projects, and social connection.
