Meet the Joy Lab

Ken Sazama — Founder & Director

Education is Ken Sazama’s passion project. A Harvard-educated teacher, Ken has built a successful real estate business in Jamaica Plain. Joy Lab is his return to his first love—education—and a reflection of what he wants for his own children.

Anshu Arora

Education Director

Anshu Arora is an educator and learning experience designer with over 5–6 years of experience in teaching, curriculum design, and teacher development. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), India, and has worked across diverse learning spaces as a teacher, instructional coach, facilitator, and curriculum designer. In the United States, she has worked with Westborough Public Schools and Framingham Public Schools in different capacities, along with serving as a teacher in a homeschool co-op setting. She is deeply passionate about creating meaningful yet joyful learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence in children. She is also preparing to study at Harvard Graduate School of Education through Project Zero to deepen her understanding of pedagogy, thinking, and meaningful learning.

At Joy Lab Academy, she will lead program design and implementation, including curriculum planning, experiential learning programs, teacher development, and interdisciplinary projects for children aged 8–13 years, helping build a future-ready and deeply engaging learning ecosystem. Outside of education, she is currently exploring breathing and mindfulness practices as part of her own learning and well-being journey.
